History
1960
In 1960 the company was established as a small business enterprise on initiative of the actual President CELSO CANONICO, specialized from the very beginning into high quality anti-corrosion protection; later developments of its structure and organization made it excel in this market as to quality and service offered to customers.
The continuous quest for the preservation of cutting-edge technology and manufacturing processes, let Canonico S.r.l. take advantage of opportunities offered by the market, while entering niches that, over time, have enriched our knowledge and know-how.
1986
In 1986 a careful search for those that already were outlined as the future needs of the market, especially automotive, on matters of increased resistance to corrosion, spotted the DACROMET® made by the French society DACRAL SA (today NOF Metal Coatings Europe) as the treatment that best meets those needs.
The following year, after signing the license agreement, the first application line was built.
1995
In 1995 ANDREA CANONICO joined the company, marking an important turning point.
1998
In 1998 Company Canonico S.r.l. was established while migrating to a new factory of about 8500 square meters, achieving the simultaneous doubling of the production capacity for small parts and the starting-up of the first, technologically advanced, Italian line for the application of DACROMET®, today GEOMET®, on parts of noticeable dimensions, through the process of dip-drain-spin on jigs.


2006
In 2006, in order to better fulfill the market demand for a corrosion protection system with a lower environmental impact, the GEOMET® new range of products was introduced, offering chrome-free and heavy metals-free anti-corrosion solutions that meet the requests of European Directive 2000/53/EC e 2002/95/EC.
2007
In 2007 the jig plant was integrated with a Geomet electrostatic spray applying system, in order to obtain a better aesthetical appearance of treated parts.
Despite the global economical crisis, in 2009 Canonico S.r.l. chooses to invest on a new and technologically advanced treatment line to better fulfill the increasing qualitative requirements of their customers.
In the meantime a Management and Administrative offices building is provided with the purpose, now reached, to increase the surface and the organization of the control and analysis lab, thus integrating the various equipments, amongst which the “Test” machinery for friction coefficient measurement outstands.
2012
In 2012, after targeted structural modifications to the line “colori 04″, car manufacturers approve the GEOBLACK® 500M and GEOBLACK® ML topcoat application.
After 2012
After 2012, the Company has continued to invest in the renewal of the plants but also of the services and it currently occupies an area of 8.000 square meters that will become 9.500 square meters by May 2018, it has completelyrenovated the electrostatic spray applying system than now occupies about 1.800 square meters with a double oven and in-line finishing. In order to better meet the growing needs of customers, “Geo 06” plant has been substantially modified, by installing centrifuges that allow better quality for the socket heads;it is equipped with 4 inspection system that can provide an extra service and this also includes the packaging of the finished parts. It also put “Geo 05” plant back into service with new centrifuges and in-line finishing and in the meantime has continued to improve the quality aspect as well creating a new office for Quality, increasing the staff to better carry out all the checks, and introducing an improvement process of the internal organisation that will lead the Company to improve the satisfaction of Canonico s.r.l. and its customers.
